Narrated Abu Huraira, The prophet (PBUH) said:
Healing is three things: CUPPING, a gulp of honey, or cauterization (branding with fire) but I forbid my followers to use cauterization (branding with fire).

Narrated by Anas:
The prophet (PBUH) said "the best medicines you may treat yourselves with are cupping..."
Sahih Buhari, Vol 7 Book of Medicine, Hadith No. 599.
Cupping is used to extract septic blood which collects near/ under the skin. Medically, the middle/ towards the end of the month when the blood is agitated and produced in sufficient quantity is the preferred time for cupping while it is discouraged at the beginning of the month when the blood would have become irritated.
Narrated Abu Hurayrah,
The prophet (PBUH) said "if anyone has himself cupped on the 17th, 19th and 21st of the month, it will be a remedy from every disease.
